Studio Policies
ATTENDANCE AND REGISTRATION:
-This is an 18 and over facility. No persons under the age of 18 are allowed in the studio at any time.
-Doors open 15 minutes before the start of class and lock 10 minutes after class starts. Students more than 10 minutes late will not be permitted in class as participating in the warm-up is necessary for safe movement. Students who arrive past the cut off time forfeit their class credit. No exceptions.
-We operate on a by appointment only basis. All students must register online in advance. For the safety of all participants, walk-ins are not allowed.
-For legal and insurance purposes, all students attending class must create their own account and register for their own classes. Class passes cannot be transferred or shared.
-All attendees must participate in class. Spectators and guests are strictly forbidden, even in the waiting room.
-Classes canceled 12 hours or less before the start of class are considered a late cancel and will forfeit a class credit. The same policy applies to No Shows.
-All classes have a 3 student minimum. We reserve the right to cancel classes that do not meet minimums up to 4 hours before the start of class. Registered students will be notified via email.
-Class and Membership expirations cannot be extended, paused, or canceled unless the student has relocated over 30 miles from the studio or has sustained an injury as verified by their doctor. In the case of injury, recurring memberships can either be canceled or paused for a maximum of 3 months.
-Wrongful or fraudulent credit card chargebacks that are later closed in favor of Studio Nightshade, LLC will incur a $50 chargeback processing fee and the cardholder will receive a lifetime studio ban.
-Studio Nightshade has a no refund policy. All sales are final.
STUDIO ETIQUETTE:
-Please be respectful and pay attention to the instructor when they are speaking and demonstrating.
-Refrain from teaching other students. There's a reason instructors get paid to do this (and they're insured)!
-Treat the studio as if you were a guest in someone’s home. Clean your poles after class and keep your dance space tidy.
-Be kind to and support your fellow students. If you see someone doing something amazing- don't be shy, tell them!
-This is a judgement free zone. We all have different struggles, different natural gifts, different goals, and will progress at different paces. Don't compare yourself to others!
-No body shaming yourself or others.
-Ask questions! If you need more explanation, something isn't clicking, or you just want to understand a movement better, don’t be afraid to ask. We love questions!
-Filming your own movement is allowed in all classes. Just make sure you have permission to post from anyone that may be in your shot and always ask for permission before filming instruction.
-For the safety of yourself and the focus of other students, please stick to the curriculum (well, mostly). We love when you make it your own, but please make sure you adhere to the class level you are attending. Adding a slick pirouette or pretty pole sit to a beginner choreo? Dope! On the other hand, inverting and spatchcocking in a beginner class can be a big distraction!
WHAT TO WEAR:
-Leggings are ok for some dance-based classes, but always keep a pair of shorts on hand! Exposed skin is a huge part of what helps you stick to the pole!
-No jewelry allowed in all classes as it can scratch the equipment and damage your belongings.
-Oils and oil based lotions are strictly prohibited on the poles. Have dry skin? Try glycerin or aloe based moisturizers (Bonus: they'll actually help you stick to the pole!).
-It's always a good idea to have knee pads and socks on hand, especially for dance classes.
-No street shoes beyond the entry.
-Ass out, heels on. Ok, maybe not required, but very highly encouraged!
By attending class at Studio Nightshade, you are agreeing to adhere to any and all studio policies. Failure to do so may result in dismissal from class and/or membership suspension or cancellation.
